Access via our low elevation trail enables us to access our operating area in the spring, while the snow is still deep in the high country. It's during this time that the bear are concentrated at lower elevations where the vegetation is lush and green. Most of the bear will be taken over baits; however, we do have some opportunity for the spot-and-stalk method of harvest. Bear populations are good and normally every hunter will have an opportunity to harvest a nice bear. 40% of bear in the Bitterroots will be of the brown color phase, ranging from blonde to cinnamon to chocolate. A minimum of two hunters per hunt is required for each of our bear hunts offered. A maximum of four hunters will be accepted per hunt. Each hunt will be operated on a two-hunter per guide basis. |
