Join us for a historic journey back in time and experience a little "high peace" in this "high pace" world!
Weitas Creek Outfitters is permitted to host rail riding guests on the original Lewis & Clark Trail. We offer professionally equipped and guided 3-Day and 1-Day trail rides - May through September each year.
Let our knowledgeable guides and gentle riding stock take you to the many sites accessible only on foot or by horseback.
To insure a quality experience for all, we limit the number of guest riders on each trip (see below for more information on rider limits).
With a variety of options to choose from, we are confident we can meet the needs of nearly every party; whether you are looking for a backcountry reunion with a few friends, a day ride off the beaten path, a corporate retreat, or a historical get-away for your group or family, we are the outfitters to make yours the guided backcountry trip of a lifetime!

Total "saddle-time" is 33 miles.
Come and explore the actual sites and trail that The Lewis & Clark Expedition of 1802-1807 experienced as they traveled to and from the Pacific Ocean. With over 12 miles of the original trail accessible ONLY by livestock, we will go where other tours can not!
Each trip begins in Kamiah, Idaho, and heads up the Lochsa River to 12-Mile Saddle, where we will mount-up and hit the trail! Throughout your trail ride, we will visit such historical sites as Sinque Hole, Smoking Place, Greensword & Dry Camps, Sherman Peak, Horse Sweat Pass, and others!
Two nights will be spent at our reserved, deluxe campsites, where comfortable accommodations, hot showers, delicious backcountry cuisine, and historical discussions 'round the cozy campfire await you and your party!
To insure the quality of your experience, a maximum of 12 guest riders will be accepted per trip. In order to meet our minimum requirement of 6 guest riders, riding parties may be combined.

Lewis & Clark Grove Day Ride. Departs Kamiah at 8 am and returns approximately 2 pm. Ride the historic, original Lewis & Clark Trail, and enjoy lunch at the famous Clark Tree near Lewis & Clark Grove. Total "saddle-time" is 7 miles. May - September | $150/person |

Lewis & Clark Lolo Trail Day Ride. Departs Kamiah at 8 am and returns approximately 3 pm. Ride the historic, original Lewis & Clark Trail and enjoy lunch at Pealey Meadows. Total "saddle-time" is 7 miles. June - September | $150/person |
An exciting addition to any of our trail rides is a leisurely float or whitewater rafting trip. Why not combine one or two of our trail ride trips?!?!—ask about our lodging and river rafting/floating partners.
